4 easy ways ANU Sport can help you boost your weekly physical activity!

Sport Australia’s annual AusPlay survey has confirmed that on average, regular physical activity levels are on the rise amongst Australians across the country. However, the study also found that “it is estimated physical inactivity now contributes to the deaths of 16,000 Australians every year.”

ANU Sport is committed to helping to continue the upwards trend in physical activity and to improving the health prospects of students and the Canberra community alike: here are four ways that we can help you improve your mood and physical health this year!

  1.  Commitment not your style? Test the waters with a free trial!

Free trials are available for our fitness centre, so you can check out what we have on offer. You can come and test out our gym, cardio theatre, group fitness classes, strength and conditioning room (with Olympic lifting platforms!), indoor cycling studio, all for free!

Once you decide that the gym is for you, we have a variety of different membership options for students, staff, alumni, sporting club members and general members, including no lock-in contracts ($8 per week for students, say what?!). You can find more information about joining the gym here.

  1. You'll receive five free guest passes with every membership purchase so that you can bring a friend along to join you!

Did you know that when you join our gym, you receive five guest passes you can use to bring a family member or friend into the gym or a group fitness class with you? Training with others is a great way to stay motivated – there’s no staying in bed when someone is waiting at the gym for you!
