Blues Awards 2020

STORY: Important information on the announcement of the Blues Awards 2020!

It’s the time of year when we would usually gather to celebrate the sporting achievements of our clubs and their individual talent through our annual Blues Awards, but the COVID-19 crisis means that we are forced to abandon those plans for 2020.

Whilst we hope to able to gather soon to honour and celebrate our award recipients, in the meantime we will be running an online Social Media campaign to announce the winners of our prestigious trophies starting Tuesday 19 May.

Our Blues Awards night celebrates and recognises the achievements of ANU students pursuing excellence in both the classroom and their chosen sport, as well as the achievements of ANU Sport clubs and their members.

On Tuesday morning ANU Sport will announce the winners of the Breakthrough Performance of the Year, Best Individual Performance of the Year, Best Team Performance of the Year and Outstanding Athlete with a Disability whilst our attention in the afternoon will focus on the Volunteer of the Year, Coach of the Year and Sport Star of the Year.

Wednesday will begin with the revealing of the Club Athlete of the Year, Club Team of the Year, Most improved Club of the Year, Small Club of the Year and Club of the Year in the morning with the Peter McCullagh Achievement Awards announced in the afternoon.

All our athletes that have achieved Half Blues will be honoured on Thursday with the week concluded on Friday with the announcement of the Full Blues recipients. And, if you’ve missed any of the action, you can re-cap it all in our Awards feature on our website on Friday evening.

Good luck to all our nominations!
