Social Media / Digital Content Student Officer
Location: Acton, Canberra
Reports To: Marketing and Events Coordinator
Hours: Casual, 15 hours per week
Renumeration: Award rate

ANU Sport is an independent incorporated association that delivers sport, fitness and recreation services and opportunities to the ANU Community. ANU Sport is an UniSport Australia member institution and the ANU is a member of the Group of 8, Australia’s 8 leading universities.

Our goal here at ANU Sport is to enhance and grow the opportunities for the ANU community to engage in sport, fitness and recreation, promoting well-being and balanced lifestyles. As one team, we deliver for over 3,000 members, catering for performance through to participation with an emphasis on experience, excellence and diversity.

ANU Sport is responsible for the operation and management of the ANU Sport Fitness Centre and all ANU Sport facilities, along with supporting 33 sporting clubs and delivering social and competitive sporting programs.
 

About the role:
The Digital Content Officer is an instrumental role within the team at ANU Sport. In this role you will be responsible for the creation and distribution of digital content across a variety of platforms, as well as for maintaining the digital presence and brand persona of ANU Sport.

The Digital Content Officer will report to the Marketing & Events Coordinator and will work closely with all areas of the organisation, to effectively create and deliver engaging marketing and communications content.

Key responsibilities include:
•    Planning and executing the organisation’s social media strategy in collaboration with the Marketing & Events Coordinator;
•    Maintaining the ANU Sport website with up-to-date and relevant information, articles and notices;
•    Working with internal and external stakeholders to access information for delivery on digital platforms; and
•    Assisting staff in creating engaging social media content to showcase a variety of ANU Sport programs and services.
 

About you:
Our ideal candidate is high energy student and passionate about sport, health and wellbeing. You are someone who wants to work with good people and make a difference.  You have experience in digital media and a desire to bring that knowledge to bear on a new challenge. 

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in administrating social media platforms, writing copy, and creating engaging campaign content.

MANDATORY
•    Technical understanding of, and demonstrated experience administrating Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms as relevant for an organisation/group.
•    Experience with editing and manipulating content on a website CMS.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•    Proven capacity to manage multiple responsibilities.
•    Proven capacity to problem-solve and think critically.
•    Proven ability to develop ideas in a creative and effective manner.
•    Proven capacity to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
•    Willingness to learn, show initiative and exercise judgement.

DESIRABLE
•    Photography, videography & video-editing capabilities.
•    Proficiency in Adobe Creative software, such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
•    Understanding of social media analytics, and ability to present and comment on analytics.
•    Experience with editing and manipulating content on a Drupal 8 CMS site.
