Fencing is an international and Olympic sport that is a great workout both physically and mentally. The ANU Fencing Club aims to promote fencing on campus through regular training, competitions, and social events.

What is fencing?

Fencing is an international and Olympic sport that encompasses three different weapon disciplines (foil, épée, and sabre). Derived from historical European swordsmanship and dueling, modern fencing is often referred to as "physical chess" because it demands a highly strategic combination of explosive speed, agility, and mental problem-solving.

Two opponents face each other on a 14-meter-long strip called a piste. The core objective is simple: touch the opponent with your weapon to score points while avoiding being touched yourself.

Are you up for the challenge?
