The ANU Scuba Club provides certified divers with affordable access to boats, equipment, and regular dive trips, creating opportunities to build experience, develop skills, and explore some great dive sites.
Founded in 1968, the Club promotes recreational SCUBA diving within the ANU community and supports members in developing their diving skills in a safe and supportive environment.
Regular dive trips are organised along the NSW coast, from Eden to Forster and beyond, with occasional expeditions further afield, including a biennial trip to Lady Musgrave Island on the Great Barrier Reef. Many trips involve camping in scenic coastal locations, helping to keep costs affordable while fostering a strong sense of community among members.
The Club owns two boats, two compressors, and a range of SCUBA equipment available for hire, with free gear hire available to students.
Membership is open to autonomous divers holding at least an Open Water certification. While the Club does not provide diver training, certification can be obtained through local dive operators, or through other recognised training agencies. The Club then provides opportunities to gain practical experience in boat handling, dive planning, equipment maintenance, and other diving-related skills.
Run entirely by volunteers, the Club welcomes divers of all ages and experience levels and is proud to be family-friendly. Safety, environmental responsibility, and a shared passion for diving are at the heart of the Club's activities.
